McVay Home and Party House Park Suggestions

Westerville Parks and Recreation Director Randy Auler listens as residents suggest possible ways to build a park on the McVay family property on Hempstead Road which the department acquired about two years ago.

The meeting took place in the parking lot behind the McVay family home and near its meeting house with Auler hearing a range of ideas for the park surrounded on three sides by homes.

Some residents suggested leaving it as is and restore the buildings to current code. Others thought to remove the buildings for a more open and natural park space with little infrastructure.

Auler said he had not committed to any plan for the park and all the ideas he hears would be taken into consideration.

No matter which plan is decided upon Auler said it would have to fit within the $1.2 million budget.
