No Injuries In Garage Fire on East Park

Westerville firefighters were greeted with a tall column of smoke at an East Park house after what witnesses said was an explosion in a garage ignited the building.

The family was home when the fire started but escaped without injury. Siding on the east wall of the connected house was destroyed and the home suffered some fire and smoke damage. Two cars parked in front of the garage were damaged.

Fire investigators were not immediately able to inspect inside the garage to determine the cause due to the heavy damage making it likely the garage could collapse.
