Westerville Police Report – Road Rage Assault Charge

From Westerville News and Public Opinion

Westerville police said an 18-year-old Columbus man was arrested after allegedly punching another Columbus man in an argument stemming from a “road-rage incident” on the morning of Feb. 6.

According to reports, the victim told police the suspect was tailgating him, so he pulled into a business in the 300 block of State Street. When he went inside, the suspect allegedly followed and started an argument.

At some point, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face, reports stated. When police arrived on the scene, the victim was in the bathroom washing blood off of his face and had a laceration on his nose.

The manager of the store provided a surveillance video of the incident that supported the victim’s claim, according to reports.

Police later found the suspect in the parking lot of Westerville South High School, where he was arrested and transported to the Franklin County jail on an assault charge, reports stated.

According to reports, the victim was treated for a nose and orbital bone fracture, and is consulting with a plastic surgeon.
