The Old Farmer’s Almanac says the Dog Days of summer begin Monday and last 40 days, until Aug. 11. There is a saying that “Dog Days bright and clear indicate a happy year, but when accompanied by rain, for better times our hopes are vain.” Westerville’s Dog Days have festivities to soothe the pain.
