Jason DeVelvis, left in the photo above, helps unload cups and trash cans delivered to the Family Room Coffee and Bake Shop on South Otterbein Avenue two doors down from Anthony Thomas Chocolates on the day when city inspectors approved an important part of the conversion of the MCL Cafeteria into the coffee shop and other new businesses.

Just over DeVelvis’ right shoulder is the newly installed expresso machine that he says is the largest in the city. At right is a mixer for the bakery. Overhead are monitors that will show the current menu and order status.
