The Old Farmer’s Almanac says the Dog Days of summer begin Monday and last 40 days, until Aug. 11. There is a saying that “Dog Days bright and clear indicate a happy year, but when accompanied by rain, for better times our hopes are vain.”

Several parcels of commercial property being farmed in Westerville for the advantage of the state’s Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) tax structure are being converted from wheat fields to a car dealership and a restaurant.

The traffic pattern on South State Street changes Monday when the right turn lane from Oakland Ave. to Glenwood Lane will be converted to 21 parking spaces.
